West Bromwich Albionare yet to make any forays into the January transfer market, with Carlos Corberan likely looking towards maintaining his sensational squad morale rather than adding extra quality.

Having risen to within one point of theChampionshipplay-off places, the Baggies are now dreaming of a return to thePremier Leagueafter an absence of two years.

This philosophy of prioritising the current squad seemed a smart move whilst they were enjoying a run ofninewins in ten league matches, but their most recent defeat toBurnleyexposed some of their weaknesses.

With the Clarets sitting comfortably top of the table, they were easily the better side as they came from behind at Turf Moor to gain yet another win, taking17shots to the visitors eight and claiming69%of possession.

It highlighted the gulf in class between the two teams, one of whom seems poised to cruise back into the top flight, whilst the other simply aspires to do so.

As such, perhaps therumourslinking Albion with a new striker could be acted upon, as Deniz Undav continues to be mooted as a possible target.

TheBrighton and Hove Albionmarkman hadreportedlybeen offered to a number of clubs in the Championship including Corberans side, but there is yet to be any development beyond that.

Despite the resurgence of Daryl Dike and Brandon Thomas-Asante and following that result, West Brom could add one more top forward to finally cut short Karlan Grants time at The Hawthorns.

The formerHuddersfield Townman has disappointed this season, with justthreeleague goals to his name after21appearances. Meanwhile, his potential successor has been limited toeighttop-flight substitute appearances for Brighton following a blistering 2021/22 campaign on loan at Union Saint-Gilloise.

Whilst temporarily playing his football in Belgium, the German notched25goals and recorded ten assists in33league matches, building upon his18-goalhaul from the season prior.

He has announced himself as a capable goalscorer on the continent, with Belgian football journalist Florent Maliceclaiming: Hes able to shoot and score from any position, right foot or left foot.

This quality is something which eludes Grant, who has scored justonce with his left footsince October 2021, and could see his place in the Baggies squad suffer in favour of the more ambidextrous 26-year-old.

Whilst it may only be on loan, it could go a long way towards endearing Undav to the West Brom project in the hope that he might succeed and push for a permanent move to The Hawthorns.

With Evan Ferguson having announced himself as the next big thing at Brighton afterthree goals in four games, chances will likely become even more scarce for the German under Roberto De Zerbi.

Therefore, this would be a move which benefits all parties involved and could be integral in the Baggies push for a play-off spot.
