West Bromwich Albion get their domestic campaign back underway on Monday evening, with a long trip North to take on 11th-placed Sunderland.
Following a two-week hiatus from club competition, the Championship returned this weekend and the action continues this evening as Sunderland play host to a West Bromwich Albion side looking to continue their resurgence post-World Cup following a disappointing first half of the campaign overall.
A run of bad form resulted in the sacking of Steve Bruce and a there was new face in the Hawthorns dugout, Carlos Corbern. The Spaniards tenure didnt have the desired start, a 2-0 home defeat to promotion-chasing Sheffield United but Corbern soon experienced an upturn in fortune, winning the next three consecutively to move within reach of safety.

Then came the World Cup break, perhaps bad timing for Corbern and his side who were just finding a rhythm, but equally it presented an opportunity to scour the market for squad additions and meant valuable uninterrupted time on the training ground.
The Baggies, who start the day in 22nd place, resume their Championship season with a visit to the Stadium of Light to face a Sunderland side with the added incentive of knowing a win for the Black Cats would take them into the promotion play-off positions.
Plenty is at stake for the West Midlands based side as well however, with West Brom possessing two games in hand over their relegation rivals, games that if won could see them climb the table to as high as 14th position, overtaking their near neighbours Birmingham City.
With theBBCandITVholding the broadcasting rights to the World Cup and the Premier League not returning until Boxing Day in a fortnights time, Sky Sports full attention is on the Championship and as a consequence full coverage of Sunderland vs West Brom will be available to watch live on Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Main Event.
