Premier League, Liverpool vs Chelsea Highlights:Liverpool and Chelsea continued their disappointing seasons as the injury-hit mid-table teams played out an uninspiring 0-0 draw at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday. Chelsea thought they had raced into a third-minute lead when Kai Havertz fired home from close range after a corner, only for VAR to rule the German offside.

Liverpool seemed shorn of confidence as they looked to avoid three straight league defeats, only creating half chances with new signing Cody Gakpo missing the best of them in the opening period.

The visitors introduced big-money January arrival Mykhailo Mudryk in the second half but, while he looked lively, the Ukrainian was unable to lift the Blues, who earned a point that leaves them 10th in the standings, with Liverpool eighth.

Fabinho gets the ball near the edge of the Chelsea penalty box and shoots which gets deflected. Falls to Nunez whose shot is wayward. He was off anyway. And its all over. It ends 0-0.

5 added minutes now as both sides look to break the deadlock. Klopp looks very animated near the touchline as the game looks to be headed for a stalemate.

Chukwuemeka falls over hios feet in the Liverpool penalty box. On the other end, Liverpool has a free kick. TAA swings it and it does not trouble the Chelsea backline.

Chalobah is down at the moment and it looks like Liverpool will take this opportunity to bring in three players. Jones, Fabinho and Henderson will be coming on as Aubameyang, Azplicueta and Chukwuemeka will join the game for Chelsea.

Chelsea playing through the press at the moment and Ziyech gets the ball in a promising position. Cuts inside and shoots, only for a Liverpool defender to get in the way. Darwin Nunez is sent through but Thiago Silva puts him in a wide position as the Uruguayans shot is collected by Kepa.

Ohhh!!!! Mudryk gets a ball inside the Liverpool penalty box!! And he cant control it as another half chance goes begging for the Blues. Lexander Arnold comes in for James Milner.

What a piece of skill by Mudryk. Takes the ball off Gallagher in the Liverpool penalty box, leaves Gomez for dead with his lightning fast footwork but only gets the side netting.

A heavy touch by Mudryk yields a goal kick for Liverpool. Darwin Nunez comes on for the Reds as Keita gives way.

Ziyech runs into the Liverpool box and gets a wayward shot off. He looks absolutely disgusted with himself as Darwin Nunez prepares to come on for Liverpool.

Gallagher maraudes into the Liverpool box but gets crowded off. Gets a shot away and has to settle for a corner. Nothing comes off it eventually and Liverpool can build again.

Mudryk is on for the Blues as Hall gives way. Can he inject some positivity in Chelseas attack now?

All Liverpool at the moment as Chelsea have to contend with the waves of the Reds attack. Stark difference from what we have seen in the first half. Mudryk is seen getting ready to come on for Chelsea.

Liverpool have strated this half on the front foot. Keita gets a ball in the Chelsea penalty area, volleys it but is blocked. A free kick for Liverpool now. And Gakpos header is high.

The players are coming out again. We are just moments away from the 2nd half. Chelsea re out first, followed by Liverpool. Does not look like any changes from either side. And peep peep!!! Liverpool gets us away. And Konate shoots from distance as Kepa backpedals. Safely wide though.

And thats all she wrote for the first 45 minutes. It has been mostly Chelseas game with the Blues having the best chances. Liverpool have looked pretty unsure at the back while being pretty wasteful in front of goal. What does the second half hold for us? Stay tuned to find out.

Chelsea have had the ball in the back of the net, but its level at the break at Anfield

4 minutes added and Chelsea get a corner as Alisson quickly kicks the ball away under pressure. Nothing off the corner ultimately though as the Brazilian keeper has the ball in his control.

Liverpool look pretty jittery at the back as they keep losing possession to Chelsea. Gorgeous pass from Keita though, to free Salah who shoots it well over the bar. In any other season that ball would be buried in the corner of the Chelsea net.

Ohhh!!! Robertson very nearly through as he plays a quick one two with Salah but the Egypttian Kings pass back to the Scottish internattional is deflected by a Chelsea foot. Kepa has it in his possession.

Finally some attacking intent from Liverpool as Gakpos header finds Salah who kicks at thin air as he misses his volley. Thiago gets the ball and its off a deflection, straight in thye hands of Kepa.

Chelsea are the team who are showing more intent while the hosts are having a few on and off chances but nothing to trouble Kepa between the sticks.
