Chelseas deal to sign RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku has been confirmed by transfer expertFabrizio Romano. The Blues are said to have everything signed and sealed, getting the here we go sign of approval from Romano, claiming he can now be considered a new Chelsea player.
The club are yet to confirm the move themselves, with it currently being unknown when statements will be made, though it appears to only be a matter of time.
Nkunku will move to Stamford Bridge in summer 2023, with owner and interim sporting directorTodd Boehlyrefusing to push for a move in January instead. Thats despite the huge injury toArmando Broja, which is set to sideline him for the rest of the season and leaving the side light up front.

Chelsea are looking at striker options in the January transfer window should an opportunity arrive, however it wont be Nkunku in that window. The 25-year-old brings an impressive record with him to the side, having scored 12 and assisted twice in just 15 Bundesliga appearances this season.
Nkunku has also got four goal involvements in the Champions League, with his ability to play as a striker as well as a slightly deeper playmaker making him a dangerous player to have. He will be hoping that form will continue on his return to action as a torn knee ligament ruled him out of the World Cup with France last month.
In an interview with French television broadcasterTelefootearlier this season, as quoted byGFFN, the highly sought-after forward broke his silence regarding his next step: Its no secret. There are clubs interested in me. Yes its flattering, but its also flattering to have a club like Leipzig do everything to keep me as well.
Ill have to reflect well and make a decision. The World Cup is on the way and thats another factor to take into account.
The transfer could end up being a coup from Boehly in the long-term, though theyll be hoping Nkunku can outperform some of their more recent signings from the Bundesliga.
